Hannah was very thorough in finding out my needs/concerns, as well as finding out the needs for the closet she was organizing. She listened, speaking with all individuals involved, making sure all needs were met. She was concise and persistent and when the closet was completed, it was labeled and organized to fit the classroom.

“Hannah is right on target with what needs to be done!  My daughter’s room was a real bone of contention between us and I just didn’t want to argue about it anymore. We hired Hannah to help my daughter go through the chaotic mess and help her to organize her closet, her dresser, and more.  They worked together and Hannah was, and is, a great influence and teacher, not to mention organizer!”

I am a sixty-six year old (baby boomer), public health psychologist with an additional private practice as well as separate professional board appointments. I am the eldest son in my family and as such, I inherited lots of antiques and memorabilia dating back to the 1800s. I am an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast. Needless to say, I had a lot of books, antiques, photographs, paper, tools, equipment, or simply stated: a whole lot of “Stuff” (see George Carlin’s YouTube on Americans and “Stuff”). Prior to BoneClutter services my stuff was semi-organized within labeled cardboard boxes, assorted cloth and plastic bags, and various shelving units. I knew that the stuff needed to be “purged” and “better organized for retrieval” so that I could find it quickly when I wanted specific items. Given that I have come to really like electronic copies rather than bound copies of books & papers, and that I only really want to keep some of the other stuff, I went along with my daughter using her professional organizing skills. I am surprised that it worked so well and that we are still very close Daddy-Daughter friends. This was the biggest project we had ever attempted together. My stuff is now a much smaller pile. My stuff is now containerized with legible labels and neatly arranged on well-organized shelves, inside drawers, and even on smaller floor spaces. Some of my stuff has been sold in a garage sale or online; some has been donated to local charities; and some distributed to family members who had not inherited as much nice old stuff. Some of the other stuff was easy to throw away.

The process of surveying the various storage areas available, analyzing old organization systems, and planning a place for the sorting piles: 1-throw, 2- keep & better maintain, and 3- give or sell has worked well. I now have a nicely presentable exercise room without piles of storage boxes as well as a very functional workshop with shelves and a peg-board to match in the basement. Upstairs I now have an in home office with books on bookshelves, organized files, and a usable computer station. By the end of this organizing project I also gained a walk-in closet with ample space for dressing and easy storage so no one gets yelled at if the door remains ajar and guests come over. Through this process I have realized that rooms can be used for one purpose and being a storage locker mess does not have to be a secondary use of any room.

I heartily endorse the BoneClutter system for decluttering, organizing and maintaining your stuff. Oh, and Millennials and Boomers CAN do a big project together.

I have witnessed Hannah complete various organizing projects over the past year. I watched her skills transform a train wreck into a masterpiece. Hannah is always thorough, effective, and very enthusiastic when she organizes. She has shown me some before and after pictures of her own home organizing projects, which clearly illustrate her great talent, dedication and conviction in professional organizing. I would recommend her to anyone looking to bring efficiency, order, and peace in their work place or home.
